Program Introduction

This program offers medical students an immersive experience within a real teaching-hospital setting, designed to reflect how clinical practice operates during the summer period. Participants engage in structured hospital-based learning that balances clinical exposure, supervised training, and academic discussion across a range of medical specialties.

The program is built to provide meaningful insight into clinical workflows, decision-making, and specialty-specific practice, while maintaining flexibility to adapt to real hospital conditions.


Medical Specialties Offered

Participants select one primary medical specialty from the following accredited programs:

  • Emergency Medicine Program
    Advanced exposure to managing critical emergencies, trauma cases, and life-threatening conditions.
  • Tropical Medicine & Infectious Diseases Program
    Clinical insight into diseases prevalent in tropical regions, including prevention, diagnosis, and control strategies.
  • Diagnostic Radiology Program
    Structured exposure to radiological imaging techniques and their application in clinical decision-making.
  • Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Program
    Introduction to reconstructive and aesthetic surgical principles focused on restoring function and form.
  • General Surgery Program
    Core surgical exposure including patient care, operative workflow, and pre- and post-operative management.
  • Neurosurgery Program
    Clinical insight into the diagnosis and management of brain, spinal, and nervous system disorders.
  • Urosurgery Program
    Exposure to urological conditions and common surgical interventions within hospital practice.
  • Ophthalmology Program
    Understanding eye care, vision-related disorders, and ophthalmic clinical practice.
  • Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) Program
    Exposure to diagnosing and managing ear, nose, and throat conditions.
  • Dermatology Program
    Clinical insight into skin diseases, cosmetic dermatology, and dermatological procedures.

Additional Info

The academic program is delivered over five academic days, with daily sessions running from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and follows a structured format that combines supervised clinical exposure with academic discussions. Participants select a primary specialty during registration; however, clinical exposure may extend to closely related specialties depending on hospital workflow, staff availability, and case volume during the summer period. This approach reflects real-world hospital practice and ensures continuous learning and meaningful clinical exposure throughout the program.
