Cairo Trip
Cairo, the vibrant capital of Egypt, is a city that beckons participants from all over the world to explore its rich history and immerse themselves in its captivating culture. As part of the summer school organized by ExEgypt, participants will have the opportunity to witness the awe-inspiring wonders that make Cairo truly unique.No visit to Cairo would be complete without marveling at the iconic Pyramids of Giza. These ancient structures, shrouded in mystery, stand tall as a testament to the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptians.Adjacent to the pyramids lies the enigmatic Sphinx, a colossal statue with the body of a lion and the head of a human, guarding the secrets of the past.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization offers a captivating journey through Egypt’s illustrious heritage. From ancient artifacts to beautifully
preserved mummies, participants will gain insights into the fascinating history and culture of this ancient civilization.
Khan El Khalili, a bustling
marketplace, provides a sensory delight for visitors. Its narrow streets are lined with shops selling exquisite jewelry, intricate textiles, and traditional
crafts.
Here, participants can immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere, bargaining with local merchants and savoring the aromas of traditional Egyptian cuisine.
Salah El Din Citadel, a medieval fortress perched on a hilltop, offers panoramic views of Cairo’s sprawling cityscape. Within its walls, participants can explore ancient mosques, museums, and ornate palaces, experiencing the city’s rich architectural heritage.
To top off their Cairo experience, participants will embark on a memorable Nile cruise by night. Sailing along the majestic river, they will witness the city’s illuminated skyline, adorned with glittering lights, while enjoying traditional music and entertainment.

Alexandria Trip
Alexandria, a captivating city on the Mediterranean coast of Egypt, is a destination that participants from all corners of the globe will have the pleasure of exploring during the summer school organized by ExEgypt.
Known for its rich history, cultural landmarks, and enchanting atmosphere, Alexandria offers a unique blend of ancient wonders and vibrant modernity.
One of the highlights of the visit to Alexandria is the exploration of the Qaitbay Citadel. This impressive fortress, built in the 15th century, stands proudly on the Mediterranean shoreline and offers panoramic views of the city and the sea. Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the city’s history as they explore the citadel’s architectural marvels and learn about its significance.
Another must-visit destination in Alexandria is the Alexandria Bibliotheca, a modern tribute to the ancient Library of Alexandria.
Participants will have the chance to delve into the world of knowledge and culture as they explore the library’s vast collection of books, manuscripts, and exhibitions. It serves as a beacon of intellectual enlightenment and a symbol of Alexandria’s scholarly heritage.

Port Said Trip
Port Said, a vibrant coastal city in Egypt, is an exciting destination that participants from around the world will have the pleasure of visiting during the summer school organized by ExEgypt. Situated at the northern entrance of the Suez Canal, Port Said offers a unique blend of history, culture, and stunning seaside vistas.
Participants will have the opportunity to savor the delicious flavors of Egypt by enjoying a koshary lunch in Port Said. This traditional Egyptian dish, consisting of a delightful mix of rice, lentils, macaroni, chickpeas, and a flavorful tomato sauce, is a culinary delight that showcases the local cuisine.
A remarkable experience awaits participants as they have the chance to cross from Africa to Asia on a ferry boat. Port Said is strategically located on the Mediterranean coast, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the Suez Canal.
Crossing the canal by ferry boat provides an extraordinary opportunity to witness the impressive engineering feat that connects two continents.
As the sun sets, participants will be treated to a captivating Semsemeya show by the sea. The enchanting melodies of the Semsemeya, a traditional Egyptian musical instrument, will fill the air, creating a magical ambiance. Participants can relax and immerse themselves in the mesmerizing music while enjoying the serene beauty of the sea.
Port Said, with its culinary delights, cross-continental adventure, and enchanting evening entertainment, promises to be a memorable destination for participants of the summer school in Egypt.
Siwa Trip
Siwa, a captivating oasis city in Egypt, is a destination that participants from around the world will have the pleasure of visiting during the winter school organized by ExEgypt. Situated in the heart of the Western Desert, Siwa offers a unique and enchanting experience with its serene landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality.
One of the highlights of the visit to Siwa is exploring the ancient ruins of the Temple of the Oracle. This archaeological site, dating back to the 6th century BC, was an important religious and cultural center in ancient times. Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in history as they wander through the remnants of this sacred place and learn about its mystical past.
Siwa is also renowned for its natural beauty, including its mesmerizing salt lakes and breathtaking sand dunes. Participants will have the chance to venture into the desert and witness the stunning vistas that surround the oasis. They can embark on exhilarating desert safaris, ride on camelback through the golden dunes, and witness the awe-inspiring sunset over the vast Sahara.
The warm and welcoming community of Siwa will provide participants with a true taste of Egyptian hospitality. They will have the opportunity to engage with the locals, learn about their traditions, and savor the authentic flavors of Siwan cuisine. From enjoying traditional dishes like “fatta” and “bessara” to sipping refreshing “sobia” drinks, participants will discover the culinary delights of this unique oasis.

Emergency Medicine Program:
1- In this course, you will attend lectures discussing the latest and most relevant topics in Emergency Medicine including ABCDE approach, acute coronary syndromes, chest trauma, abdominal trauma, acute abdomen and burn injuries.
2- You will also be given pretalks on how to do general, abdominal, cardiac and chest examinations, as well as Chest X-ray and ECG interpretations.
3- You will then have the chance to attend hands-on clinical rounds in the emergency department including the observation, trauma and resuscitation rooms. In these rounds you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learnt such as history taking, perform hands-on examinations and interpret X-ray films, and ECG traces.
4- For those interested in attending surgeries, you will have the chance to attend surgeries in different specialties as well.
Tropical Medicine and Infectious diseases Program:
1- Participants will attend lectures and learn about important topics in tropical medicine and infectious disease relevant in Egypt including jaundice, hepatitis, liver cell failure, schistosomiasis and typhoid fever.
2- Students will also have the chance to take history from patients and perform hands-on examinations like general and abdominal examinations.
3- You will also be able to visit the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit and other units in the departments.
4- For those interested in attending surgeries, you will have the chance to attend surgeries in different specialties as well.
Dentistry/Maxillofacial Program:
1- Participants will attend lectures and learn about important topics in Dentistry and Maxillofacial including maxillofacial fractures, periodontal disease, endodontics, orthodontics, orthognathic surgery and congenital and craniofacial deformities.
2- You will attend clinical rounds at our plastic surgery department and see cases with maxillofacial trauma and fractures.
3- You will have the chance to attend a dental clinic and observe all types of procedures done.
4- For those interested in attending surgeries, you will have the chance to attend surgeries in plastic and reconstructive surgery, dental surgeries and in different specialties as well.
Pharmaceutical Program:
1- Participants will attend lectures on important topics in Clinical Pharmacy including hepatitis and its treatment, antidiabetics and insulin, anticoagulants and schistosomiasis and arthropods.
2- You will attend sessions at our Parasitology lab to learn about the most common parasites in Egypt, and have the chance to the parasites and their eggs on slides under a microscope
3- You will pay a visit to our local pharmacies, and learn about the system our local pharmacies follow including drug organization, ordering etc..
Radiology Program:
1- Participants will attend lectures on important topics in diagnostic radiology including interpreting X-rays, plain radiography, CT (computed tomography) scans, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans, Ultrasound examinations and Nuclear medicine imaging techniques.
2- You will be able to attend at the radiology department to apply what you have learnt in the lectures regarding the interpretation of the difficult imaging techniques.
3- You will have the chance to learn how to perform The Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (FAST) Ultrasound.
Nursing Program:
1- Participants will attend lectures on important topics in nursing including critical care, operation theater techniques, obstetric nursing and principles of nursing services, administration, and supervision
2- Attend clinical rounds and learn about different types of injection (SC, IM, IV), to cannulation, blood sampling like ABG, VBG, as well as ECG electrode placement
3- Attend operation theaters, ICU, and inpatient wards and observe our professional nursing teams
Physiotherapy Program:
1- Participants will attend lectures on important topics in physiotherapy including foundations of anatomy and clinical practice, injury and rehabilitation, motor control and decline and musculoskeletal practice.
2- Attend clinical practices and learn about manual therapy, massage, stretching, posture correction and individualized exercise.
3- Learn about Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy used in patients with problems in their heart, lungs and circulatory system such as those who suffer from COPD, asthma and heart attacks.
N.B. Optional workshops: You can register for our exceptional workshops given by our certified doctors, and these include basic life support, advanced life support and stitching workshops.
